Community Caring Weekend

Since AWCC has been at this location, we have held an annual Community Caring Weekend, which is either the last weekend in October or the first weekend of November. The AWCC family — kids, youth, adults — all come together to serve our neighbors. We break into teams and walk our neighborhood and rake leaves, do yard work, or whatever that home needs or wants us to do. It’s a great weekend for the AWCC family to get to know each other more, serve together, and bless our neighbors.

Kidz Night Out

Once a quarter the AWCC family hosts a Kidz Night Out for children who are or have been a part of the foster care system in Jefferson County. It’s an opportunity for the kids to have a fun night out, while their caregivers have a few hours of respite. The kids are in a safe and loving environment, which gives their caregivers peace of mind knowing that their kids will have fun, be cared for, and be safe.

Missions Trips

One to two times a year, there is an opportunity for the AWCC family to participate in a missions trip to Quito, Ecuador. Whether it’s doing construction, hosting a Bible school for kids, or playing soccer, it’s a bonding, challenging, and growing time for all who participate.

Once a year, many of the AWCC family serves at Royal Family Kids’ Camp. This is a camp for children of abuse and neglect. It’s a week where they are loved and get to be a kid!

If you’d like to participate in any of these outreaches or begin a new one, please send an email to contact@awcclive.org.
